The Gibson will be closed Wednesday December 24, 2025–Tuesday January 6, 2026, inclusive.

The museum will reopen Wednesday January 7, 2026.

Getting Here

By public transit

Take any bus to the SFU Burnaby Campus, and get off at the very last stop.

Most people visiting us for the first time get off at the first SFU bus stop (the SFU Transportation Centre) because it appears to be the last stop. But it isn't! There is one stop afterwards, so please wait and get off at the very last stop—the main bus loop. Wait until the bus driver gets off!

The Gibson is directly adjacent to the SFU Transit Exchange (the main bus loop).

By car

Drive to SFU Burnaby Campus via Gaglardi Way and University Drive East. Once arrived at the top of the Burnaby Mountain, park in North parking lot and make your way to the SFU Transit Exchange (the main bus loop).

For now, please know that the museum building is wheelchair accessible with accessible washrooms. We have audio devices on-site that can be borrowed for interactive exhibition elements, and our website has unique accessible features that are still in development.
