Opportunities

Gibson Art Museum Volunteer Program

Volunteers play a crucial role at the Gibson, helping us engage audience communities and realize the full scope of our programs. By contributing fresh perspectives, knowledge and enthusiasm, the Gibson’s Volunteer Program expands our team’s capacity while providing opportunities for community members to learn new skills and participate meaningfully in the Gibson’s day to day activities.

Our family of volunteers work across many of the Gibson’s core departments including Visitor Experience, Learning & Research, Collections Management, and Preparation.

Reasons to volunteer:

  • Contribute to the growth of an exciting newly expanded cultural institution
  • Enjoy a unique opportunity to interact with artists, curators, researchers, and other cultural practitioners
  • Receive invitations to special exhibition previews, behind-the-scenes studio and collection vault tours
  • Learn new skills that prepare you for further work and study
  • Share your passion for art with your community
  • Help make visitor experiences at the Gibson welcoming and memorable

Volunteer placements are made on a seasonal basis. Commitments are semester-long and can range from 5 to 10 hours weekly or be on-call, depending on the nature of the position.

Please stay tuned for our next call for volunteers in December 2025.
