Explore expressive large-scale drawing using ink, brushes, charcoal, and big sheets of paper with Liz Oakley, the Gibson's Art Studio Lead.
This workshop will be a space to loosen up, get messy, and follow your creative impulses. Liz Oakley, the Gibson's Art Studio Lead, will guide the group through a variety of experiments in abstract mark-making, drawing on the experimental, collaborative, and improvisational performance practices showcased in the Gibson’s fall exhibitions.
How many people can use one brush at the same time? What happens when we draw with both hands at once? How will a drawing evolve as it passes through multiple hands? How many kinds of marks can we make by rolling, swinging, or throwing things at the page?
By the end of the workshop you’ll have contributed to some big collective drawings, and will take home some smaller artworks.

- Under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- Ages 15 to 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian or otherwise be accompanied by an adult.
- All participants must register a free ticket, including adults accompanying minors.
