Join Liz Oakley, the Gibson's Art Studio Lead, to learn techniques for creating and using stencils.
Let’s design and create our own stencils! In this workshop, we’ll begin with outdoor sketching, taking inspiration for our designs from the natural world. After cutting out our stencils, we’ll use them to make monoprints and drawings on paper that you can take home, and we'll also spray paint our stencil designs onto the Gibson’s new pop-up tents in the courtyard!
Learn techniques for scaling designs, cutting out shapes safely and precisely, monotype printmaking, and spray painting! Inspired by artworks in the Museum, we’ll explore layering, repetition, color, and texture. Come make your mark!
