Let’s make some paper puppets! In this workshop, we’ll use a variety of printmaking techniques to create papers with different colors, patterns, and textures. We’ll cut up our printed papers and other collage materials, and reassemble them as articulated paper puppets! Our characters will take inspiration from the posters and photographs in the Museum. Learn techniques for making prints and rubbings, cutting out shapes safely and precisely, creating joints for paper puppets, and puppet movement! We’ll have the option to attach rods to our puppets to help them move, and we’ll also use our characters in some stop motion animation experiments. Come bring your creations to life!

PLEASE NOTE:
- This workshop is intended for people ages 12 and up. If you are younger and want to participate, please email psammarc@sfu.ca to inquire.
- Under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- Ages 15 to 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian or otherwise be accompanied by an adult.
- All participants must register a free ticket, including adults accompanying minors.
- Rain or shine! Please dress appropriately for the weather.
