Soupson is a mobile food cart and gathering site initiated by Germain Koh for the inauguration of the Gibson Art Museum in September 2025. This fall, Lyndsay Pomerantz activates Soupson for the first time since its inaugural presentation. Reflecting on the cultural lineages passed down through the women in her family, Pomerantz brings together her Thai maternal grandmother, Sangwian, whom she never met, and her Jewish grandmother, Joan, affectionately known as “Bubby,” to create a soup that fosters relationships across generations and with those no longer present. This Soupson iteration is, in Pomerantz’s words, “a collaboration with ghosts.”
Soupson will be activated October 15 and December 3, at 12PM each day. The soup is shared until the pot is empty. Everyone is welcome, and the soup is free.
