Adrien Tinchi, This will be soon a present already passed, 2026.

Thursday November 26, 2026, 5PM

Please join us as Cosmic Commons Artist in Residence Adrien Tinchi shares his experience collaborating with and learning from SFU astrophysicists and cosmologists. He will also read from the introduction to une paille avec une doublure, a book he co-wrote with astrophysicist Matteo Barsuglia, which also explores questions of doubt and uncertainty between art and science.

Refreshments will be served.

The Cosmic Commons Artist Residency is made possible by a partnership with the Institut français du Canada and SFU’s Department of Physics. We are grateful for the additional support of SFU Residence and Housing.

Adrien Tinchi is a pluri-disciplinary artist. His practice explores how stories, images, gestures, and traces circulate, transform, and persist through time. In 2020, he co-founded The Left Place The Right Space, an artist-run space and publishing platform. Alongside his artistic work, he develops interdisciplinary projects involving artists, scientists, educators, researchers, and public audiences through exhibitions, workshops, publications, and collective forms of inquiry.

His work has been presented at the CAPC, Bordeaux (2024, 2025); POUSH, Aubervilliers (2024); Turbulence, Marseille (2023); The Right Space, Reims (2023); DOC!, Paris (2019); and the Mulhouse Photography Biennial (2018). He has also performed at the CAPC, Bordeaux (2024), Galerie gb Agency, Paris (2023), and the Centre d’art contemporain La Traverse, Alfortville (2019). He has participated in residencies at IASPIS Stockholm (2026), the International Cultural Center of Cerisy-la-Salle (2025), Cosmos, Sciences and Societies (formerly the Paris Center for Cosmological Physics), Paris (2022), as well as several supported by the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, Reims (2021–2022). Tinchi lives and works in Paris, France.
